Ceo:

Jay Allen

A New Jersey native who decided to go to school all the way in Connecticut, Jay has been serving in UCTV since Freshman year as a content creator for the advertising department. 

Jay is large on traveling and has done so since attending UConn. He was able to travel to Austin, Texas to attend the SWSW(South by Southwest) conference with UCTV. He studied abroad at the end of his Freshman year in Prague, Czech Republic studying Czech History and Sociology and in the summer of 2023, he studied abroad in Spain by walking the coast of the Camino de Santiago. 

At school Jay serves as a Residential Assitant for East Campus, the social media chair for the club he started called Black Queer Students’ Association and serves as one of the first members of the Harrison Fitch Leadership Fellows foundation which was created to give scholarships to men in leadership and follow after the first black basketball player at UConn Harrison “Honey” Fitch. 

When not working he enjoys hanging with friends socially, playing Minecraft, and writing stories in hopes to be an author one day.

Samantha Snevily

Sam is a Senior pursuing a BFA in Digital Media and Design with a concentration in Film/Video Production and a minor in Communications. In her position, she leads content strategy and manages the marketing team, focusing on expanding UCTV’s reach and engagement. She has been part of UCTV for three years, serving in the past as VP of Media and Events Director.

Sam is a hardworking content creator within and outside the UConn community, always working on whatever she can. As part of UConn Athletics' Creative Team, she produces dynamic sports content, creating everything from live game updates to short-form social media videos. She also freelances with her own business, Snev Studios. Beyond her professional work, Sammy is involved with the UConn Dance Company as the Public Relations Chair, where she manages social media, showcasing her ability to connect and captivate audiences across different platforms. 

When she’s not creating, you’ll find her doing spontaneous activities, snapping photos, dancing, or hanging out with friends.

Matthew Johnson

Matthew Johnson is a  senior in the Digital Media and Design program in Film and Video Production. He is a camera enthusiast who is passionate about sharing everything behind the scenes of camera work. His career outside of UCTV is as a freelance cinematographer, working on narrative, documentary, and commercial work. But, in the office, he applies his skills on set to members of UCTV offering trainings, helping others with technical questions and much more.

Outside of work, Matthew is currently working on many projects including his Senior Thesis film about the struggles of a young man who quits school to fish full-time. In addition to this project, he is always up for a new challenge and project that will creatively push his boundaries.

CHRO: Sophia Birnbaum

Serving as UCTV’s newest Chief Human Resources Officer and a junior with a double-majoring in English and Journalism, focusing on broadcast journalism. Sophia also works for the News Department as a content producer with writing and producing news on air from time to time. 

Outside of my academics and work at UCTV, Sophia loves being outdoors and hiking (Case Mountain is my favorite spot right now), going to concerts with friends, or exploring the food scene near campus. Literature and music are also huge passions of mine- I almost never leave the house without a book or my earbuds.

 

CFo: AMMAR ALSADADI

Ammar is a senior majoring in Actuarial Science and Finance. He currently serves as the CFO of UCTV, where he oversees the organization’s finances, ensuring efficient budget management and financial solvency. Ammar handles purchase requests and makes sure all financial operations run smoothly.

Outside of UCTV and academics, Ammar enjoys spending time with friends, playing different sports, working out at the rec center, running, and playing chess.
